Video Presentation on Plagiarism

  1. Hello Cora,

The scenarios in your video highlighted the intentional types of plagiarism that occur by deliberately copying someone’s work. When I write, I am often concerned about making an unintentional mistake in how I cite something. I was wondering if in your research they found any differences between the types/amount of plagiarism that are common in distance learning as compared to face-to-face classes. What was the most interesting finding that your research found?

    Thanks,

  2. Cora:

You created an interesting and fun to watch video about a topic that is very important, but generally not considered exciting. I liked the three scenarios that were acted out, and they clearly identified issues that can lead to a student plagiarizing someone else's work. While watching your video, I remembered learning about plagiarism and how to properly cite other's works when I was in high school. Our work at Walden University has definitely helped me in these regards.

  3. Cora,

I enjoyed the humorous acts incorporated in your final project. Plagiarism is a tremendous issue I encounter on a daily basis in my middle grades classroom. Students fail to realize the importance of citing their resources because they are more concerned with finishing the task with as little effort as possible. Although I teach middle school, I can easily see how this issue can continue to plague students as they progress to college level courses, specifically in distance learning programs. As you mentioned in your video, the APA manual is a valuable resource for students to use when completing tasks requiring citations.

Again, I enjoyed your presentation! Great Job!

  4. Cora,

The intro music was a good attention grabber.

The survey questions at the beginning of your presentation were a great way of pulling your audience into the presentation.

I think it was very clever and engaging to act out the three different scenarios of plagiarism.

I like how you concluded with ways a student can avoid plagiarism.

    Very good presentation overall.
